Rules & Regulations
**Yellow line rule in effect this year. If you are caught going over the yellow line on the bike portion, you will disqualified. You will also be DQ'd if you are on your bike in the transition area. Let's make '07 the safest and best year yet!**
  • You must be wearing your race number in both the bike and run legs. Do not tear off the bottom race tag until coming through the finish line area. If you are not wearing your number at the end or do not have the tear off tag you will not be counted in the final standings. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Please arrive early Saturday morning!!!! You will need to pick up your race packet and be marked before race time. Registration closes at 8:15 am. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!
  • Please check race number to be sure all the information is correct, before walking away. If a change in age, sex, or division is needed, tell us at that time.
  • You will receive a championchip, which will be the way we time the race. You must have it attached to your ankle with the Velcro strap during the entire race in order to be timed. Relay members must pass it to each other during the race. You must turn it in at the finish line. If you do not finish the race please bring it to the finish line before you leave for the day. If you do not return the chip, you will be charged $35.00.
  • You will receive a swim cap at registration, which must be worn during the race. You will also be body marked at race registration for body identification at swim exit.
  • You must swim with your designated wave. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • No flotation devices, or motors are allowed during the swim.
  • Wetsuits are allowed, but not necessary.
  • Helmets are mandatory for the bike leg. If you do not have a helmet on during the race, your number will be taken and you will be disqualified.
  • NO DRAFTING! You must ride this course on your own.
  • TEAMS: the bike and run people must wait in the designated area and exchange the championchip, from swim to bike, and transfer championchip/number, from bike to run. You may not leave early; marshals will be in the transition area.
  • No spectators or family members allowed in the transition area!! No one may help you remove your wetsuit, put on your helmet, tie your shoes, hold your bike, or anything. This is an individual event and if someone is assisting you in the transition area, you will be disqualified and removed from the race.
  • If you drop out during the event, either because of a flat, exhaustion, disqualification or inability to complete a leg, DO NOT finish the remainder of the race. This will mess up timing immensely. DO NOT go through the finish line if you have not completed the swim and the bike.
  • No headphones or baby carriages.
  • Race will proceed in rain, snow, sleet, wind or shine, so be prepared.
  • Race director reserves the right to cancel if conditions warrant.
  • No mailing of awards. Must be present to receive award.
  • No abuse, verbal or otherwise, of volunteers, police or others will be tolerated. Any unsportsmanlike conduct will lead to your disqualification from this race. Be kind to the volunteers, without them we could not hold this event.
  • Please do not litter on the bike or run route. Keep those empty gel packs in your pocket. Our volunteers are not clean up crew, clean up after yourselves.
  • Please have a great race, and have a great time, but be respectful to the town, the lake area, the volunteers, the environment, your fellow competitors and your race director.

HAVE A GREAT RACE! BE FAIR! HAVE FUN!
